DANIEL TODD DEAN, ESQ.

Mr. Dean is a “semi-native” in Florida having been raised in Pinellas County and attending elementary, middle, and high school in Pinellas County. Mr. Dean also briefly attended St. Petersburg Junior college (now St. Petersburg College) before joining the United States Navy in 1988.

Mr. Dean was stationed in Orlando, Florida for initial recruit training and for the initial training in the Navy Nuclear Power Program. After his initial schooling in Orlando, Mr. Dean was stationed in Ballston Spa, New York to complete the Nuclear Power Program and received his “hands on” training.

After completing his training, Mr. Dean was stationed on the U.S.S. Enterprise in Newport News, Virginia to assist in the refueling and overhaul of the first nuclear-powered aircraft carrier. After the four-year refueling process ended, Mr. Dean stayed with the U.S.S. Enterprise during its initial operational testing. Mr. Dean was honorably discharged from the United States Navy in May 1996.

After leaving the United States Navy, Mr. Dean returned to Florida to finish his college education at the University of Central Florida. He graduated with a B.S. in Chemistry in May 1999. During his military career, Mr. Dean found himself drawn to arguing fine points in military policy to his immediate supervisors, often on behalf of one of his crew mates or those he was charged with supervising. While attending the University of Central Florida, Mr. Dean also found himself in the position of having to debate various minor school policies with professors and administrators, albeit mostly for his own benefit, on several occasions. Mr. Dean enjoyed the knowledge he gained, but found the idea of working in a laboratory tedious.

Mr. Dean applied to and was accepted into Stetson University College of Law and began his path to becoming a lawyer in January 2000. Mr. Dean graduated from Stetson University College of Law in May 2002. Shortly after graduation, Mr. Dean was hired by Myron J. Mensh, P.A., to represent the Department of Revenue’s Child Support Enforcement division. When Charlie Crist was elected Attorney General of the State of Florida, he exercised the option that all state agencies be represented by the Office of the Attorney General rather than by private contractors. The Office of the Attorney General employed Mr. Dean to continue representing the Department of Revenue. After more than two (2) years, Mr. Dean left the Office of the Attorney General and went into private practice.

Since leaving the Office of the Attorney General, Mr. Dean has practiced law in a variety of areas: employment law, family law, contract law, bankruptcy law, creditor’s rights, mortgage foreclosure defense, and other civil matters. Currently, Mr. Dean is concentrating his practice in bankruptcy law in an effort to help people get a fresh start from the housing crisis that has left many Florida residents in a home that is not worth the loan they have to pay to keep it. Mr. Dean also assists people in getting a fresh start for those people who have fallen on tough economic times, but have a home that is worth keeping. His primary goal is to provide enough information to the client so that the client understands the process and to try to make one of the hardest and most stressful times a little easier.
